Take your winning
ticket(s) to the betting window where you will be paid for each
winning combination you have. You are getting paid after each leg.
After you get paid for winning the 1st leg, you then get a free
bet on the 2nd leg for every winning ticket you won on the 1st leg.
If you have one winning ticket then you only get to play one bet
(a straight play) on the 2nd leg or jackpot leg. So, for each winning
ticket you have on the 1st leg, you get that exact number of bets
for free on the 2nd leg. On a Twin-Trifecta you have to play a trifecta
bet on the 2nd leg. On a Tri-Super you have to play a superfecta
bet on the 2nd leg.
Exp: If you
have 3 winning tickets on the 1st leg you can play just $3 in free
combinations on the 2nd leg.

Depending on
the payout method that your track offers, if you hit all numbers
in the 2nd leg you would then win the jackpot. If your track has
a "closest number payout", then you only need to get closer
than anyone else to win! Exp:
1-2-3-all, could be a winner to 1 player. OR 1-2-all-all, could
be a winner to 1 player.
If your track
offers a "share all payout" and there are no winners,
then the entire jackpot is shared equally between all 1st leg exchange
holders. So, the more exchange tickets you have, the more money
you win.
